Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is the Government of India's flagship affordable housing initiative providing interest subsidy on home loans to first-time homebuyers from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Low Income Groups (LIG), and Middle Income Groups (MIG-I & MIG-II). The scheme aims to achieve 'Housing for All' by providing subsidized home loans.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
- •Property must be registered in the name of female member of family or joint ownership with male member
- •No member of the family should own a pucca house in any part of India
- •Property should be located in notified city/town as per PMAY list
- •Credit-linked subsidy to be availed only once per family
- •Income certificate should be issued by competent authority (not older than 6 months)
Who Cannot Apply (Exclusions)
- •Annual household income exceeding ₹18 lakh (above MIG-II limit)
- •Families who already own a pucca house anywhere in India
- •Those who have already availed central assistance under any housing scheme
- •Those who have previously availed PMAY-CLSS benefit
- •Properties exceeding carpet area limits: EWS/LIG (>60 sqm), MIG-I (>160 sqm), MIG-II (>200 sqm)
- •Properties located in cities/towns not notified by Ministry of Housing
- •Second homes or investment properties (only for first-time homebuyers)
